AS DUAS CIDADES - SÃO CARLOS-SP

No dia 03 de Agosto estava praticando mais aquarela. A cada dia que passa, estou me acostumando com essa técnica. Aos poucos a gente vai se sentindo mais leve e livre em puxar a água e dar formas com o pincel.

Nada como a prática diária para o braço e o pincel se tornarem um só e a gente conseguir transmitir uma idéia no papel.

O Desenho acima quis fazer uma paisagem urbana em que as pessoas estivessem em primeiro plano e a cidade como fundo. Fiz a perspectiva de maneira bem tímida com o ponto do observador na altura dos olhos do pedestre.

Dividi a folha em duas metades verticais, uma com a paisagem urbana e outra com uma parede cinza bem clara que não saiu na foto, mas que dá pra perceber pela sombra do pedestre de pé.
A intenção do desenho foi justamente colocar a cidade em duas metades, uma plano aberto e um plano fechado, e daí convido vocês a darem mais leituras para o desenho.

On August 3rd I was practicing more watercolor. With each passing day, I'm getting used to this technique. Gradually we are feeling lighter and freer in pulling the water and giving shapes with the brush.
Nothing like the daily practice for the arm and the brush become one and we get to convey an idea in the paper. The drawing above wanted to make an urban landscape in which people were in the foreground and the city as background. I made the prospect very timidly with the spot of the observer at the height of the pedestrian's eyes.
I divided the sheet into two vertical halves, one with the urban landscape and the other with a very clear gray wall that did not appear in the photo, but that can be seen by the shadow of the standing pedestrian.
The intention of the drawing was precisely to put the city in two halves, an open plan and a closed plan, and hence invite you to give more readings to the drawing.

ÚLTIMO RAIO DE SOL EM SÃO CARLOS-SP, BRASIL

Neste dia fui comprar a janta no supermercado ao lado de casa. Estava naqueles dias de ritmo lento. Parei o carro no estacionamento e o sol entrava pela janela lateral, ofuscando.
Olhei para a paisagem e vi que o estacionamento do supermercado ficava ao lado do córrego da cidade, e um dos portões do estacionamento estava aberto mostrando a mata ao lado do córrego e ao fundo a cidade, com vista para os bairros Parque Santa Mônica e Vila Arnaldo.
Estava um tempo seco e uma fuligem compunha o cenário. Tudo estava em um tom avermelhado. Gravei a paisagem na minha cabeça e quando cheguei em casa registrei em aquarela somente.

O registro demorou em torno de 10 min. Elaborei as tintas e fiz pinceladas bem rápidas, na tentativa de compor a paisagem comente com manchas sobre manchas sem o uso de traços.

On this day I went to buy the dinner at the supermarket next to the house. It was in those slow-paced days. I stopped the car in the parking lot and the sun came in through the side window, dazzling.
I looked at the landscape and saw that the supermarket parking lot was next to the city stream, and one of the parking gates was open showing the woods beside the stream and in the background the city, overlooking the neighborhoods Santa Monica Park and Village Arnaldo.
There was a dry weather and a soot formed the scene. Everything was reddish. I recorded the landscape in my head and when I got home I registered in watercolor only. The registration took about 10 min. I made the paints and made brushstrokes very quickly, in an attempt to compose the landscape with stains on stains without the use of traces.

PÔR DO SOL NA PRAIA

Este desenho foi um treino. Resolvi testar pinceladas com pincel seco e também quis testar as interferências entre aguadas.

Usei pouca água quando quis que as cores se misturassem no papel porém o efeito do pincel seco ficou bacana para o reflexos.

Depois deste desenho aprendi no livro do Félix Scheinberger, "Aquarela para Urban Sketchers" , da editora GG, que o ideal é mergulhar as folhas de papel em uma bandeija de água, fixa-la em um suporte rigido e esperar secar naturalmente, para depois executar a aguada. Agora só faço assim.

This drawing was a training. I decided to test brush strokes with a dry brush and also wanted to test the interferences between gouges.
I used little water when I wanted the colors to blend into the paper but the effect of the dry brush was nice for the reflections.
After this drawing I learned in Felix Scheinberger's book, "Watercolor for Urban Sketchers", by GG, that the ideal is to dip the sheets of paper in a water tray, fix it in a rigid support with tape and expect to dry naturally, to perform the watering. I just do it now.

CASARÕES HISTÓRICOS DE SÃO CARLOS-SP, BRASIL 003

Este é mais um post sobre casas históricas na cidade de São Carlos-SP, Brasil. 

No dia 11 de Junho foi o momento para registrar casas antigas de São Carlos-SP.

Estava ótimo para uma caminhada na cidade, e quando animo para uma caminhada o caderno e as tintas sempre vão juntos.

Me encantei por uma casa, a observei por uns instantes e sentado na calçada, lá fiquei durante uma hora.

Depois de umas semanas resolvi dar cor ao desenho, então, colori com aquarela e fiz os traços com caneta nanquim. Ficou com uma volumetria bem mais destacada.

This is another post about historic houses in the city of São Carlos-SP, Brazil.
On June 11 was the time to register old houses of São Carlos-SP.
It was great for a walk in the city, and when I encourage for a walk the notebook and the paints always go together.
I marveled at a house, watched it for a moment, and sat on the pavement, stayed there for an hour.
After a few weeks I decided to color the drawing, so I colored it with watercolor and made the strokes with an ink pen. It had a much more prominent volumetry.

CASARÕES HISTÓRICOS DE SÃO CARLOS-SP, BRASIL 02

No fim de semana do dia 25 de Junho aconteceu o 18º encontro do Urban Sketcher São Carlos (link).

Postei aqui o desenho que fiz no dia (link).

Quando voltei para casa fiquei pensando que tinha muito a ser desenhado ainda, e fiquei pensando sobre tudo o que gostaria de registrar no momento do encontro.
As calçadas, as cores do céu, as fachadas dos edifícios de uma forma inteira e não somente partes, enfim, gostaria de um registro que captasse mais a atmosfera.

Então coloquei lápis e tinta no papel para tentar me aproximar dessa atmosfera.

A calçada se transformou em céu, fiz o registro do local de três maneiras em uma mesma folha: o corte da rua, a fachada do edifício, e a perspectiva da rua olhando a paisagem da cidade. Embaixo fiz o esquema da planta urbana da rua com as simbologias de corte e vista dos desenhos.

O registro misturou desenhos arquitetônicos com desenhos de observação e ao final acho que vai dar para aproveitar algumas dessas idéias para os econtros dos Urban Sketchers.

On the weekend of June 25 the 18th Urban Sketcher São Carlos meeting took place.
I posted here the drawing I made the day.
When I returned home I was thinking that there was a lot to be drawn, and I was thinking about everything I wanted to record at the time of the meeting.
The sidewalks, the colors of the sky, the facades of buildings in a whole way and not only parts, in short, I would like a record that captures the atmosphere more.
So I put pencil and ink on the paper to try to get closer to that atmosphere.
The sidewalk turned into sky, I registered the place three ways on the same page: the cut of the street, the facade of the building, and the perspective of the street looking at the landscape of the city. Below I did the layout of the urban street plan with the symbologies of cut and view of the drawings.

The record mixed architectural drawings with drawings of observation and in the end I think it will give to take advantage of some of these ideas for the meetings of Urban Sketchers.

Neste fim de semana aconteceu o 18º encontro do grupo Urban Sketchers São Carlos.

Nos reunimos a tarde, na praça Paulino Botelho, centro histórico da cidade. Nela estão prédios de secretarias de governo, prefeitura, comércios e serviços e está na principal via da cidade, a Av. São Carlos.

Nos reunimos à tarde e ficamos durante 3 horas, sorteamos um livro da editora Gustavo Gili sobre como representar o movimento nas artes gráficas e trocamos idéias para o suporte de desenhos para que Urban Sketchers não fiquem sentados no meio fio, dores nas costas a serem evitadas.

This weekend was the 18th meeting of the group Urban Sketchers São Carlos.
We meet in the afternoon, in Paulino Botelho square, the historical center of the city. In it are buildings of secretaries of government, city hall, commerce and services and it is in the main road of the city, Av. São Carlos.

We met in the afternoon and stayed for 3 hours, we raffled a book from Gustavo Gili on how to represent the movement in the graphic arts and we exchanged ideas for the support of drawings so that Urban Sketchers do not sit on the curb, back pains to be avoided .

FAZENDA DO PINHAL EM SÃO CARLOS

Este final de semana e o final de semana passado teve encontro internacional de Urban Sketchers em Araraquara-SP e São Carlos-SP.

O evento chamado de "II Encontro Internacional de Desenho de Rua" foi organizado pelos professores e equipe técnica da UNIARA, pelo artista Lauro Monteiro Filho, e pelo grupo Urban Sketchers de Araraquara.

O arquiteto e ilustrador André Duarte Baptista de Torres Vedras-Portugal, veio junto com outros profissionais e artistas portugueses para participar da semana de Arquitetura da UNIARA, para falar de reabilitação urbana em sua cidade.

Na apresentação que aconteceu no dia 21 de Maio de 2018 no auditório da faculdade, reforçou muito como o desenho a mão é importantíssimo para o registro da paisagem da cidade, para a memória na comunidade, como  ferramenta entre arquitetos e artistas para desenvolver projetos e leituras urbanas.

Neste sábado aconteceu junto ao evento, o encontro do grupo Urban Sketchers de Araraquara e Urban Sketchers de São Carlos, na Fazenda do Pinhal.

O dia amanhaceu super frio e ficou quente ao longo da manhã. Céu limpo com um sol de inverno. Pouco vento. Foi bom desenhar ao som de muitos pássaros e do som das árvores.

Porém fico sempre pensando se faz sentido um grupo de Urban Sketchers (desenhistas urbanos) desenhar paisagens bucólicas de fazendas. Significa que as fazendas são parte da cidade neste mundo contempoâneo? Não existe mundo rural, e tudo é urbano agora? É somente para treinar o desenho de paisagem? 

Enfim, é bom desenhar todas as paisagens criadas pelo homem e lá eu fui gastar um pouco de grafite e tinta sem pudor, junto com os amigos.

André Baptista nos apresentou alguns conceitos de um caderno de percursos urbanos para o registro do dia a dia na cidade através de desenhos.

Falou que o desenho precisa representar alguma característica emocional, conceitual que nos acontece no momento e que deste modo se traduz o espaço de forma gráfica.

Após sua fala percorremos o centro de pesquisa, a senzala, a casa grande e os jardins da Fazenda secular que morava a família fundadora da cidade, e que passa por um processo de restauração junto ao IPHAN, com cordenação de Denize Quinsler e equipe.

A visitação a Fazenda é aberta ao público mas precisa agendar a visita que é guiada por Educadores muito simpáticos e também com um café muito gostoso. O passeio tem o custo de R$ 15,00 por pessoa.

This weekend and last weekend had an international meeting of Urban Sketchers in Araraquara-SP and São Carlos-SP.
The event called "II International Street Design Meeting" was organized by UNIARA's professors and technical team, the artist Lauro Monteiro Filho, and the Urban Sketchers group from Araraquara.
The architect and illustrator André Duarte Baptista de Torres Vedras-Portugal, came along with other Portuguese professionals and artists to participate in UNIARA Architecture Week, to talk about urban rehabilitation in his city.
In the presentation that took place on May 21, 2018 in the college auditorium, he reinforced the importance of handwriting for the recording of the city landscape, for memory in the community, as a tool among architects and artists to develop projects and readings urban
This Saturday was the meeting of the group Urban Sketchers of Araraquara and Urban Sketchers of São Carlos, at Fazenda do Pinhal.
The day was super cold and it got hot in the morning. Clear sky with a winter sun. Little wind. It was good to draw to the sound of many birds and the sound of trees.
But I always wonder if it makes sense for a group of Urban Sketchers (urban designers) to draw bucolic landscapes from farms. Does it mean that farms are part of the city in this contemporary world? There is no rural world, and everything is urban now? Is it just to train the landscape design?
Anyway, it is good to draw all the landscapes created by the man and there I went to spend some graffiti and ink without shame, along with friends.
André Baptista presented us with some concepts of a notebook of urban routes for recording the day to day in the city through drawings.
He said that the drawing must represent some emotional characteristic, conceptual that happens to us at the moment and that in this way the space translates graphically.
After his speech we went through the research center, the senzala, the large house and the gardens of the secular farm that lived the founding family of the city, and that goes through a process of restoration next to the IPHAN, with cordenation of Denize Quinsler and team.
The visitation to the Farm is open to the public but you need to schedule the visit guided by very friendly Educators and also with a very delicious coffee. The tour costs R $ 15,00 per person.
