AS DUAS CIDADES - SÃO CARLOS-SP

No dia 03 de Agosto estava praticando mais aquarela. A cada dia que passa, estou me acostumando com essa técnica. Aos poucos a gente vai se sentindo mais leve e livre em puxar a água e dar formas com o pincel.

Nada como a prática diária para o braço e o pincel se tornarem um só e a gente conseguir transmitir uma idéia no papel.

O Desenho acima quis fazer uma paisagem urbana em que as pessoas estivessem em primeiro plano e a cidade como fundo. Fiz a perspectiva de maneira bem tímida com o ponto do observador na altura dos olhos do pedestre.

Dividi a folha em duas metades verticais, uma com a paisagem urbana e outra com uma parede cinza bem clara que não saiu na foto, mas que dá pra perceber pela sombra do pedestre de pé.
A intenção do desenho foi justamente colocar a cidade em duas metades, uma plano aberto e um plano fechado, e daí convido vocês a darem mais leituras para o desenho.

On August 3rd I was practicing more watercolor. With each passing day, I'm getting used to this technique. Gradually we are feeling lighter and freer in pulling the water and giving shapes with the brush.
Nothing like the daily practice for the arm and the brush become one and we get to convey an idea in the paper. The drawing above wanted to make an urban landscape in which people were in the foreground and the city as background. I made the prospect very timidly with the spot of the observer at the height of the pedestrian's eyes.
I divided the sheet into two vertical halves, one with the urban landscape and the other with a very clear gray wall that did not appear in the photo, but that can be seen by the shadow of the standing pedestrian.
The intention of the drawing was precisely to put the city in two halves, an open plan and a closed plan, and hence invite you to give more readings to the drawing.

ÚLTIMO RAIO DE SOL EM SÃO CARLOS-SP, BRASIL

Neste dia fui comprar a janta no supermercado ao lado de casa. Estava naqueles dias de ritmo lento. Parei o carro no estacionamento e o sol entrava pela janela lateral, ofuscando.
Olhei para a paisagem e vi que o estacionamento do supermercado ficava ao lado do córrego da cidade, e um dos portões do estacionamento estava aberto mostrando a mata ao lado do córrego e ao fundo a cidade, com vista para os bairros Parque Santa Mônica e Vila Arnaldo.
Estava um tempo seco e uma fuligem compunha o cenário. Tudo estava em um tom avermelhado. Gravei a paisagem na minha cabeça e quando cheguei em casa registrei em aquarela somente.

O registro demorou em torno de 10 min. Elaborei as tintas e fiz pinceladas bem rápidas, na tentativa de compor a paisagem comente com manchas sobre manchas sem o uso de traços.

On this day I went to buy the dinner at the supermarket next to the house. It was in those slow-paced days. I stopped the car in the parking lot and the sun came in through the side window, dazzling.
I looked at the landscape and saw that the supermarket parking lot was next to the city stream, and one of the parking gates was open showing the woods beside the stream and in the background the city, overlooking the neighborhoods Santa Monica Park and Village Arnaldo.
There was a dry weather and a soot formed the scene. Everything was reddish. I recorded the landscape in my head and when I got home I registered in watercolor only. The registration took about 10 min. I made the paints and made brushstrokes very quickly, in an attempt to compose the landscape with stains on stains without the use of traces.

PÔR DO SOL NA PRAIA

Este desenho foi um treino. Resolvi testar pinceladas com pincel seco e também quis testar as interferências entre aguadas.

Usei pouca água quando quis que as cores se misturassem no papel porém o efeito do pincel seco ficou bacana para o reflexos.

Depois deste desenho aprendi no livro do Félix Scheinberger, "Aquarela para Urban Sketchers" , da editora GG, que o ideal é mergulhar as folhas de papel em uma bandeija de água, fixa-la em um suporte rigido e esperar secar naturalmente, para depois executar a aguada. Agora só faço assim.

This drawing was a training. I decided to test brush strokes with a dry brush and also wanted to test the interferences between gouges.
I used little water when I wanted the colors to blend into the paper but the effect of the dry brush was nice for the reflections.
After this drawing I learned in Felix Scheinberger's book, "Watercolor for Urban Sketchers", by GG, that the ideal is to dip the sheets of paper in a water tray, fix it in a rigid support with tape and expect to dry naturally, to perform the watering. I just do it now.

DESENHO DE FRUTAS AO SOM DE SINATRA

Este domingo Frank Sinatra me ajudou a desenhar.

Deitei na rede da varanda e deixei o lápis correr de acordo com o balanço da música. Pura sinestia. Um exercício gráfico que vale muito a pena a qualquer momento, experimentar expressar graficamente aquilo que estamos ouvindo.

Lembro que em determinado momento do desenho estava tocando "A man alone", mas outras tocaram e não lembro quais foram.

No papel branco apareceram curvas e mais curvas. Comecei então a colorir com giz pastel aquarelável de forma despropositada tentando achar equilíbrio de cores e tons, e lá para tantas, já noite, as cores e as curvas pediram para serem transformadas em frutas. Por que não?! Enfim, algumas frutas inspiradas pelo som do Sinatra e por uma lua cheia.

This Sunday Frank Sinatra helped me draw.
I lay down on the hammock on the porch and let the pencil run according to the music swing. Pure sinest. A graphic exercise that is worthwhile at any time, try to graphically express what we are listening to.
I remember that at one point in the drawing I was playing "A man alone", but others played and I do not remember what they were.

On the white paper curves and more curves appeared. I then started coloring with watercolor pastel chalk in an unreasonable way trying to find balance of colors and tones, and there for so many, at night, the colors and the curves asked to be transformed into fruits. Why not?! Anyway, some fruit inspired by the sound of Sinatra and a full moon.
